- Abstract
The article argues that compliance officers need to be protected from the at-will employment doctrine to give them the power to stand up to management and ensure compliance with the law. Topics discussed include discuss the tension that often occur between pursuing compliance and pursuing ethical conduct within a business entity; and need of establishing an integrity culture that will help to achieve both compliance goals and ethical behavior.
