- Abstract
The article discusses the right to petition under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as of March 2012, focusing on the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the case Borough of Duryea v. Guarnieri which deals with the relationship between public sector employees and efforts to alter statutory protections for these workers. Public employee retaliation claims under the Speech Clause of the U.S. Constitution are also examined, as well as the Boston, Massachusetts police strike of 1919.
