- Abstract
The article focuses on a nonpharmacologic approach for treating fibromyalgia (FM). It discusses several key factors that need to be addressed during FM treatment which are exercise, psychiatric comorbidity, regaining function, education, sleep hygiene and stress management, collectively called ExPRESS. Supervised aerobic exercise is cited as being effective in improving physical capacity. It is said that decreasing stress tends to yield better patient outcomes, methods of which range from biofeedback to yoga.
