- Abstract
The article discusses French Influences on 13th-century Hebrew Poetry in Spain, citing the case of Ya‘akov ben El‘azar's Ninth Mahberet. It states that El‘azar's "Sefer ha-meshalim" is a compilation of ten unusual maqamat, or mahbarot in Hebrew, and is a discourse on love, and mentions that his work have also pointed out possible influences from Latin and French literature. It notes a case study the ninth mahberet of Sefer hameshalim, which tells the love story of Sahar and Kima.
