- Abstract
An essay is presented that discusses the authoring of the Yiddish film script "Motl Peysi dem kbazns" ("Motl the cantor Peisi's son") by author Sholem Aleichem. Topics include Aleichem's interest in cinematography, his inspiration by child actor Willie Sanders (Willy Saunders), and the connection of Aleichem's emigration to the U.S. to his interest in film. A cinema synopsis of Aleichem's script for "Little Motl Goes to America," translated by Ben-Zion Goldberg, is presented.
