- Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted by IM Khan and colleagues regarding the pathologies in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The method used in the study was 80% male patient and 20% female patient of IBS. It provides an overview of the definition of the IBS which is a common disorder with altered bowel habits associated with abdominal pain or discomfort and no mechanical, biochemical or overt inflammatory conditions. Result suggests that dealing with the frequency of organic pathologies in patients with IBS but no single group of patients with organic pathologies exceeds the percentage of the group having anxiety and depression with associated somatization disorder.
