- Abstract
The article discusses the use of advances in the Structural Learning Theory (SLT) and the AuthorIT development and TutorIT delivery technologies to solve problems in developing Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS). Carnegie Learning's "Cognitive Tutors" have been identified as the only ITS that have made significant commercial inroads. Limitations of representing knowledge in terms of relational networks are identified, including relationships between concepts.
