- Abstract
The article focuses on the art of visual media in West Africa. According to the author, the region's mass media are embedded in a highly competitive political field, to the point that a wide variety of political as well as other actors try to appropriate various media in order to influence pubic opinion. To understand the transforming practices of looking at visual media, the author pointed that it is of crucial importance to know more about the visual culture of those who adopt television and video as new electronic media.
