- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 59-year-old woman with dissociative identity and panic disorders who was treated for prednisone-induced mania through the use of the anticonvulsant gabapentin. It states the patient was treated in March 2000 with prednisone for a flare-up of asthma and developed a manic reaction within 48 hours. It mentions in June and August of 2000 she was treated with gabapentin to attenuate anticipated side-effects of prednisone treatment.
