- Abstract
This article features Roy T. Diliberto, president of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). For Diliberto, who has long been a member of both the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and the International Association for Financial Planning, and was involved from the very start in the unification talks between the two organizations, the alliance has been a long time coming. It was not until May 1999 that the two organizations agreed to form the FPA. According to Diliberto, the key to the association's success depends on adhering to one consistent message. What unites the new group is that regardless of which organization planners came from, the work they do for their clients is the same. He notes that the growth of the profession depends on planners contributing to the FPA.
