- Title
"LIKE AN ANIMAL": FIGURES ON THE MOVE IN THE GODFATHER.
- Authors
Little, William G.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on how Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 film "The Godfather" entertains moving figures to present an ethical critique of the violence on which the patriarchal law of the title character depends. Topics covered include ways in which figures on the move call into question specular authority's legitimacy, crises created in agencies such as the police and the justice system, and the theory of spectatorship's dependence on a conception of images.
