- Authors
Ann Bross, Leslie; Craig, Stephanie L.
- Abstract
The article explores the use of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in student-led Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. It emphasizes the importance of student participation and self-determination skills, and discusses how the UDL framework can be applied to meet the needs of diverse learners. The article also addresses potential barriers faced by culturally and linguistically diverse families during IEP meetings and suggests that UDL principles can help overcome these barriers. Additionally, the article highlights the significance of developing self-determination skills in students with disabilities during the transition to adulthood and provides specific examples and guidelines for implementing UDL principles in IEP meetings.
