- Abstract
Examines the effects of dried bonito (katsuobushi) extracts and captopril, an angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, on rat isolated aorta. Effects of dried bonito extracts on the contractile response to norepinephrine or KCL in denuded aorta preparations isolated from rats; Comparison of the effects with those of captopril as a reference drug; Results suggesting that antihypersensitive mechanism of action induced by dried bonito involves direct action on vascular smooth muscle in addition to ACE-inhibitory activity.
