The author reflects on the implementation of optical magnification through the use of dental loupes and surgical microscopes in dentistry. He argues that the range of clinical operations is expanding as dentists become familiar with high optical magnification and microscopes are improved to meet their needs. Lastly, the author believes that if dental loupes open exciting new worlds, the surgical microscope can open new galaxies.
