- Abstract
This article discusses the potential anti-dengue virus activity of metabolites from the Cinnamomum subavenium plant. The researchers identified 13 compounds from the roots of the plant, including isoobtusilactone and (+)-sesamin, which were found to inhibit the protease activity of the dengue virus. The article provides information on the extraction and isolation process of these compounds. The compounds were purified using various techniques and their physical and spectroscopic properties were determined. The research was supported by grants from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST)-Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Joint Research Project and the KMU-KMUH Co-Project of Key Research.
