- Abstract
The article provides information on the trends of SARS-CoV-2 variants in the United States from January 2022 to May 2023, with a focus on the Omicron variant. The predominant variants during this period included BA.1.1, BA.2, BA.2.12.1, BA.5, and various descendant lineages, with each variant coinciding with surges in COVID-19 cases. The study emphasizes the importance of genomic surveillance in monitoring emerging variants and guiding public health measures.
