- Abstract
The flame retardant of inorganic silicon was surface-modified with four coupling agents and then they were used to prepare flame retardant viscose fibers. The influence of the type and amount of coupling agent for surface modification and the amount of modified inorganic silicon flame retardant on the properties of viscose fiber were studied. The results show that N-β-aminoethyl-γ-aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilane (KH 602) has greatly improved the physical and mechanical properties of flame-retardant fibers. When the amount of KH 602 was 1% and the amount of silicone flame retardant was 20%, the viscose fiber presented breaking strength of 2. 56 cN/ dtex, wet fracture strength of 1. 40 cN/ dtex, elongation at break of 21%, moisture return rate of 9. 0%, ultra-length rate of 0. 3%, ultimate oxygen index of 33. 0%, and vertical combustion of level V-0, with no melting and good carbon combustion.
