- Abstract
The article tells two different stories. The first one is about the relationship between a father and a son, where the father suggests Tomasa as a daughter-in-law and eventually marries her. However, tensions arise between the daughter-in-law and the father-in-law due to differences in their work methods and concerns about Tomasa's health during her pregnancy. The second story focuses on the relationship between a grandfather and his grandson, where the grandfather lives in poverty and reflects on old age and death. After seeking refuge with his son and daughter-in-law, the child falls ill and dies, and the mother blames the grandfather. Upon entering the child's room, they find the grandfather dead in the same bed where he was born.
