- Abstract
The author discusses his English translation of the Tibetan poem "'Dod pa'i bstan bcos" (Treatise on Passion) by Gendun Chopel. Chopel's study of Sanskrit, his poems about sexual pleasure influenced by Indian kama, or erotica, and his depiction of women's pleasure are discussed, as well as the Tibetan alphabet, translation of rhyme and meter, and word choice in Tibetan and English for sexual organs.
