- Title
STORIES WITHIN STORIES: WRITING HISTORY IN FOUKE LE FITZ WARYN.
- Authors
Williams, Alison
- Abstract
A literary critique of the Medieval Anglo-Norman romance "Fouke le Fitz Waryn," focusing on issues regarding its engagement in how history and reputation is told through stories, is presented. Issues addressed first discuss how stories are used within the text as a literary device. Then the "romanticization" of historical characters is mentioned, commenting on treatment of historical narrative and how subjective such depictions are in narration.
