- Title
The Effectiveness of Mobilization With Movement at Improving Dorsiflexion After Ankle Sprain.
- Authors
Hoch, Matthew C.; McKeon, Patrick O.
- Abstract
The article reports on the significance of joint mobilization to improve dorsiflexion after an ankle sprain. It states that a joint-mobilization technique called mobilization with movement (MWM) is of particular interest, and explains that the method is the concurrent application of accessory mobilization with active or passive physiological movement. It describes how talocrural MWM increases dorsiflexion in those with a history of ankle sprain based on a single treatment. It mentions that the MWM treatment results in a small effect because the full effects of the intervention are typically accomplished over several treatment sessions.
