- Title
INFOWORKS RS HELPS ANALYSIS OF BOSCASTLE FLOODING.
- Abstract
This article reports that Wallingford Software's InfoWorks RS computer simulation integrated application software modeled a flash flood that occurred in Boscastle town, England. A study commissioned by the Great Britain Environment Agency sought to analyze the hydraulics and geomorphology of the flood. News footage in April 2004 showed a 15-meter cascade of water inundating buildings, filling stone bridges with debris, and sweeping vehicles. The software provided information on the likelihood that a flood of the same magnitude would recur.
