An essay is presented which discusses the French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau's view on virtue epistemology. Particular focus is given to how the capacity for sensation develops into judgment and wisdom. An overview of Rousseau's conception of the principal stages of cognitive development, including the first stage of development's reliance on sensory impressions and the developed mind's ability to exercise freedom, is provided.
