- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of necessary reforms to the U.S. financial services regulatory framework. It suggests steps for developing a meaningful plan for regulatory reform. These measures include reexamining the purpose and objectives of each existing regulatory agency, clearly defining the roles and expectations of regulatory agencies, and studying additional resources regulators will need to carry out their mandates. It says that reforms should result in genuine improvements to fundamental regulatory functions.
