Study Suggests microRNA Associated With Thyroid Cancer.
- Abstract
The article cites a study on the association of altered tiny pieces of genetic material called microRNA (MiRNA) and with an increased risk of developing papillary thyroid cancer. This research of the 15 patients with papillary thyroid cancer was conducted by Albert de la Chapelle, a Doctor of Medicine and Philosophy at the Ohio State University, and his colleagues. The results of the study revealed that overexpression of MiRNAs could lead to tumor growth.
