- Abstract
This article, titled "No Observed Interference by Nucleated Red Blood Cells in Total Bilirubin Measurement by Point-of-Care Testing: Six Years of Experience," discusses the evaluation of the impact of nucleated red blood cells (NRBC) interference in total bilirubin (TBil) measurements using point-of-care testing (POCT). The study was conducted at the Department of Laboratory Medicine at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, Spain. The results showed that there was no significant interference by NRBC in TBil measurements using POCT, suggesting that this type of interference is rare or that other factors may be involved. The authors emphasize the importance of effective communication and continuous education about measurement methods and potential interferences in clinical settings.
