- Abstract
The article presents the first report of downy mildew caused by Peronospora farinosa f. sp. betae on Swiss chard, a culinary vegetable crop in Korea. In 2007, Swiss chard showed typical downy mildew symptoms in Yongin and Namyangju, Korea after which microscopic examination was done to identify the pathogen. Based on molecular approaches and host specificity, Peronospora farinosa f. sp. betae was identified as the pathogen.
