- Abstract
The article presents the first report of Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni (Xap), a quarantine pathogen, on apricot and plum in Switzerland. Xap was first detected on apricot trees and fruit (Prunus armeniaca) showing symptoms in 2005 in four orchards located in canton Valais, Switzerland, the primary Swiss production region. In 2009, it was detected on Japanese apricot (Prunus mume) inter-cropped with apricot in two of these orchards.
