- Abstract
This article discusses alternative instillation techniques for sequential intravesical gemcitabine and docetaxel (Gem/Doce) treatment for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The standard Gem/Doce treatment protocol can be challenging for some patients due to bladder capacity or detrusor overactivity issues. The article presents two alternative instillation methods, the split-dosing method and the gravity method, which aim to improve patient adherence and tolerability. The study found that these modified instillation methods were safe and effective, with similar recurrence-free survival rates compared to the standard method. The authors hope that these findings will have a positive impact on real-world practice and the increasing utilization of Gem/Doce.
