- Abstract
배경 We aimed to compare the adverse reactions following third dose of BNT162b2 and influenza vacci- nation in healthcare workers. 방법 This study was conducted on healthcare workers who received third dose of BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine and/or inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine (IIV4s) from 25 October to 5 November 2021 at a tertiary hospital in Daegu, Korea. IIV4s was administered followed by a BNT162b2 vaccine a week later. Participants responded a mobile questionnaire after seven days from the date of each vaccination for adverse events during seven post-vaccination days. 결과 Among a total of 1,460 healthcare workers who consented to the study, 394 (27.0%) responded to the survey. The mean age was 34.85±8.69 years and male to female ratio was 1 to 3. The number of BNT162b2+IIV4s, BNT162b2 alone, and IIV4s alone groups were 159, 52, and 183, respectively. The total adverse reaction rates in BNT162b2+IIV4s, BNT162b2 alone, and IIV4s alone groups were 90.5%, 90.4%, and 44.2%, respectively (P<0.001). The systemic adverse reaction rates in BNT162b2+IIV4s, BNT162b2 alone, and IIV4s alone groups were 78.0%, 80.8%, and 38.8%, respectively (P<0.001). Between BNT162b2+IIV4s and BNT162b2 alone groups, there was no significant difference of total and systemic adverse reaction rates. The most common adverse reaction was the injection site pain (67.4%) and most common systemic adverse reaction was fatigue (58.7%). The rates of the injection site pain in BNT162b2+IIV4s, BNT162b2 alone, and IIV4s alone groups were 88.7%, 88.5%, 37.5%, respectively (P<0.001). The rates of fatigue in BNT162b2+IIV4s, BNT162b2 alone, and IIV4s alone groups were 74.7%, 79.6%, 38.4%, respectively (P<0.001)). The rates of fever in BNT162b2+IIV4s, BNT162b2 alone, and IIV4s alone groups were 19.5%, 26.9%, 3.3%, respectively (P<0.001). 결론 Frequency of adverse reactions after third dose of BNT162b vaccine was significantly higher compared to IIV4s. However, frequency of adverse reactions in 1 week interval vaccination of third dose of BNT162b2 and IIV4s was not different in BNT162b2 alone.
