- Abstract
The article presents information on a study related to disruptions of special-needs adoptions in the U.S. The study analyzes the functioning of families which have special-need adopted children. Some families are capable of sustaining special-needs placements. The study focuses on the difference between such families and the families in which special-needs placements are disrupted. It found that the role of a father is very important in maintaining these placements. The article also discusses incidence of adoption disruptions, a family's commitment to parents who have adopted special-needs children.
