- Authors
Marchesi, Simone
- Abstract
The article offers poetry criticism of the poem "Purgatorio," by Dante Alighieri. It explores how Dante has spoken highly about his character Arnaut Daniel. It notes that Dante cited examples of the highest metrical form, syntax, and diction characterizing a passage that represents a variety of attitudes. The author contends that the work elicits Dante's successful traveling across purgatory where Arnaut has embraced self-revelation portraying the generous attitude.
