- Abstract
Bang et al. [[1]] demonstrated instructively the use of molecular data to differentiate two new species from Korea, I L. koreana, i Bang et al., 2021 and I L. ulleungensis, i Bang et al., 2021. An additional character to differentiate these two species, stated in Table 3 in [[2]], is the ornamentation of P2 coxa with proximal row of long spinules in I L. americana i and no proximal row in I L. gonzalezi i . Other notable differences between I L. gonzalezi i and I L. americana i are: (1) The male of I L. gonzalezi i with three lateral spinules in the telson, but only two in I L. americana i ; (2) Both sexes of I L. gonzalezi i with a smooth body, but I L. americana i with dorsal and ventral urosomal spinules; and (3) P6 fused to the urosome in I L. gonzalezi i , but both P6 swimming legs separated in I L. americana i .
