- Abstract
Innovation is considered an engine of economic growth, but the process is threatened by several traps due to (i) its complexity, (ii) resources requirements, (iii) associated risks, (iv) specific connections, and (v) inherent interests. To counteract these potential dangers, the actors involved in the three spheres of the Triple Helix (industry, academic, government) must cooperate, regardless of context (local, regional, national), for a quick and efficient conversion of ideas and capabilities into new products, processes and services useful for society. Unfortunately, this goal has not yet become reality and Romania was placed modest in the last global rankings of innovation (55), respectively competitiveness (59). This paper presents the results of a recent study on the management of technological resources in innovative enterprises, focusing on the interests of the target group for (i) renewing / upgrading portfolio of products and services, (ii) collaboration with academia, (iii) development of entrepreneurial skills, (iv) national system of innovation (NIS) relevance. The options expressed by respondents are differentiated depending on company size, nature of capital and development region.
