- Abstract
The author describes the strategies she implemented in improving her reading comprehension class. She shares the disappointment her third grade reading class felt about her teaching methods. She applies interactivity to imbibe characteristics of a good reader to her students. Details of how she taught the concept of metacognition, making inferences, act of questioning and deciding on the salient points are provided. Positive feedback from her students after employing the interactive strategies are also included.
