- Title
ZECHARIAH 8 AND ITS ALLUSIONS TO JEREMIAH 30-33 AND DEUTERO-ISAIAH.
- Authors
Assis, Elie
- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the central idea in Jeremiah's oracles and prophesies of redemption which is missing and different from Zechariah 8. It explores the allusions in Jeremiah's claim about the gentiles joining the Jews in their pilgrimage to Jerusalem to beseech the Lord and to recognize the Judeans as the chosen people of God. The author concludes that Zachariah 8 is taken from the revised oracles in Jeremiah 30-33, and is written in a more subtle way of relating the influence of the Jews to the gentiles during the pre-exilic period.
