- Title
DEMOCRACY, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, AND FEMINIST THEORY: A RESPONSE TO POST AND WEINSTEIN.
- Authors
Williams, Susan H.
- Abstract
In this article, the author responds to the arguments of professors Robert Post and James Weinstein on freedom of speech, democracy, and feminist theory in the U.S. She agrees with Post in stating that constitutional theory does not focus on identifying what is in the abstract for free speech. She believes that the theory should be consistent with the commitments and concerns of the people through conceptualizations.
