- Abstract
The article talks about the July 1995 massacre of about 8,732 Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica, a town in Bosnia. The genocide is described by the article as the most horrific crime in the post World War II history of Europe. Its importance as a defeat for the European Union and the United Nations is highlighted. The Serbian leadership's denial of the event for 17 years is noted. The U.S. and the European Union are urged to pressure the leadership to reverse trends in the Balkan region.
