On October 15, 2010, a Pakistani senior security official confirmed that the government had freed Afghanistan Taliban supreme commander Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar. The first Chinese-built Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft was inducted into the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on November 13, 2010. On November 11, 2010, diplomatic sources stated that the European Union (EU) had approved a trade package for Pakistan to help in flood damages.
