- Abstract
The article presents a study on the stacking fault energy (SFE) of high nitrogen (N) bearing steels. It states that high nitrogen steels (HNS) contain a balance of ductility and strength. It presents nitrogen bearing steels high work-hardening rate wherein it examines the dislocation configuration of various stainless steels through the weak beam method. It also notes on the possible reasons for dislocation planarization such as low supercritical fluid extraction and high nitrogen contents.
