- Abstract
Based on agar-diffusion method, different extracts from six microalgaes were investigated against methicillln-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) in this article. The results showed that all the microalgaes tested indicated different degrees of antibacterial activity against MRSA. Especially, Chroommonas salina, Chaetoceros gracilis, and Platymonashelgolandica var. tsingtaoensis indicated a considerable antibacterial activity against MRSA. In a word, microalgae could be one of new potential anti-MRSA substances.
