- Abstract
The article reports the results of a tracking study from marketing research firm, Ipsos-Insight, which showed that over-the-counter (OTC) drug sales increased when doctors recommended OTC treatment to their patients. The study showed that sales of Claritin OTC increased because of doctors' recommendations. The article presents further data from the study, including the fact that percentage of doctor recommendations has increased from 47% in 1997 to 54% in 2002.
