- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effect of vitamin E (vit E) in cadmium (Cd)-induced oxidative stress in the blood of rats. Study randomly divides the rats in three experimental groups. Results show that Cd helps increase malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, superoxide dismutase's (SOD's) antioxidant enzyme activities, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and catalase (CAT) in erythrocytes and plasma. Study concludes that vit E provides a protective effect against toxicity to cadmium.
