- Abstract
Nowadays students and teachers use different types of web systems that support the teaching and learning processes. Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (ACSC) environments are a type of these systems, particularly where students work in groups to carry out learning activities using the computer as a means of communication, coordination and collaboration. for the successful of collaborative learning, it is not enough to form groups and assign tasks to be solved jointly. There are factors which in the collaborative experiences. one of these factors is the manifestation of collaboration skills in students. Although the ACSC environments generate a variety of data regarding group dynamics, at present none provide information related to the manifestation of the collaborative skills of its members. This article documents the development of a new chat module for the Moodle educational platform, which allows to capture and analyze student interactions, and then generate indicators that show the degree of manifestation of their collaboration skills, both at the individual level as a group. The experimentation carried out with university students showed that the new chat module allows teachers to monitor the manifestation of the collaboration skills of their students, and provides different useful indicators for decision making.
