- Abstract
Objective: To observe and compare the clinical curative effect of warming-needle moxibustion and sole acupuncture in treatment of perimenopausal syndrome, and the influence to serum sex hormone level. Methods: 60 cases of patients were randomly divided according with the diagnostic criteria into treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the two groups should be treated with chief acupoints as guān yuán (RN 4), tiān shū (ST 25), zĭ gōng (EX-CA 1) and sān yīn jiāo(SP 6), and the assistant acupoints should be selected according to pattern differentiation. Patients in the treatment group were given warming-needle moxibustion treatment, and control group were given sole acupuncture treatment. The treatment in both groups should be given every other day. After two-month treatment, menopause rating scale (MRS) score and change of serum sex hormone of patients in both groups before and after the treatment were observed. Results: The MRS score of both groups decreased after the treatment compared with that before the treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). Moreover, the decrease of MRS score in treatment group was more obvious than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After the treatment, the serum E2 of patients in both groups increased comparing with that before the treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). The FSH and LH of patients in both groups decreased comparing with that before the treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). However, the comparison between two groups indicated that the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Both warming-needle moxibustion and sole acupuncture have certain curative effect in treatment of perimenopausal syndrome. Moreover, both therapeutic methods could improve symptoms of perimenopausal syndrome patients and hormone level. In aspect of symptom improvement, the warming-needle moxibustion was better than sole acupuncture in clinical curative effect.
