- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 16-year-old Japanese boy with complaints of skin ulcer but no muscle weakness. He suffered from hepatic insufficiency at the age of 15 where abdominal ultrasound revealed hyperechogeneic liver. Physical examination revealed a butterfly rash on his face, several ulcers on his upper back, chest, and right elbow. Amyopathic dermatomyositis (ADM) complicated by acute interstitial pneumonia was diagnosed.
