- Authors
SANDEFUR, TIMOTHY
- Abstract
The article discusses the case of Knox versus the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in which the U.S. Supreme Court decided that the union's "opt-out" procedure for a dissenting worker regarding the funding of union campaign was unconstitutional. It quotes Justice Samuel Alito who argued against burden imposed by the union on a nonmember. It states that SEIU and its supporters such as Liberal stalwart Erwin Chemerinsky believe the decision was against their right to act collectively.
