- Title
Is Microalbuminuria a Disease?
- Authors
Williams, Craig D.
- Abstract
The article discusses the therapeutic use of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor or angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) therapy in patients with diabetes who have microalbuminuria in the absence of hypertension. The author notes that there are no evidence to show that patients with microalbuminuria should receive ACE inhibitor or ARB therapy. It is also questioned whether the same therapeutic regimen should be given to patients with microalbuminuria and over nephropathy.
