- Authors
Mayes, Linda; Rutherford, Helena; Suchman, Nancy; Close, Nancy
- Abstract
The article focuses on the neural and psychological dynamics of adults' transitioning to parenthood and how individual differences in parental care impact the infant and child development. The relationship that parents have with the child in the early years has an important role in developing the brain and social development, and life-long health outcomes. It also focuses on developing an awareness of one's needs and skills as a parent and learning about their infant and their relationship.
