The article discusses a study on the efficacy and safety of pre-emptive ganciclovir therapy for discontinuing pre-emptive therapy in kidney transplant recipients. The researchers compared the clinical characteristics and outcomes between two groups of patients. The first strategy continued ganciclovir until patients had one negative test while the second strategy continued therapy until two negative tests were obtained.
